Editorial Policy
This page explains how Shawzilla researches, writes, fact-checks, and corrects its content. It exists so readers know exactly what standard every article on this site is held to โ not as a legal formality, but as an honest account of our process.
1. How Articles Are Researched
Every article on Shawzilla starts with live, current sourcing rather than static or memorised information. For time-sensitive topics โ pricing, specifications, launch dates, safety ratings, tax rates โ we pull directly from primary sources where possible (manufacturer press releases, official government portals like Parivahan and Bharat NCAP) and cross-reference against established automotive publications (Autocar India, CarWale, CarDekho, ZigWheels, Team-BHP, and similar) to confirm figures before publishing.
2. AI-Assisted Research and Writing
Research and drafting on Shawzilla are assisted by AI tools. Every article is reviewed, fact-checked, and edited before publication โ see our About page for more on how this works. We disclose this openly because we'd rather you trust the process than assume something about it.
3. Sourcing Standards
- Every article lists its sources at the bottom, naming the publications or organisations the underlying facts were drawn from
- We do not reproduce copyrighted text, images, or paragraphs from other publications โ all writing is original, and any factual claim is independently verified rather than copied
- Where a figure is officially confirmed by a manufacturer or regulator, we say so; where it is an industry estimate or pre-launch expectation, we use language like "expected" rather than presenting it as confirmed fact
4. Confirmed vs. Expected Information
Automotive journalism regularly deals with information at different levels of certainty โ official specifications, manufacturer-confirmed pricing, and pre-launch industry estimates all coexist in the same story. We aim to make that distinction clear in the text itself: officially announced figures are stated directly, while anticipated or estimated figures (particularly pricing ahead of an official India launch) are explicitly flagged as "expected" or "estimated" rather than presented with false certainty.
5. Comparison and Ranking Methodology
Articles that compare or rank multiple vehicles state their methodology directly in the piece โ typically a combination of verified pricing, official specifications, published safety ratings (Bharat NCAP / Global NCAP where available), and feature-for-feature comparison at similar price points. We do not accept payment from manufacturers to influence rankings, and no vehicle's placement in a comparison is for sale.
6. Keeping Content Current
Pricing, tax rates, and specifications change. Time-sensitive articles display a "Last verified" date separate from their original publish date, so readers can judge how fresh a given figure is. When we become aware that a figure has materially changed, we update the article rather than leaving outdated information live.
7. Corrections
If you spot an error โ an outdated price, an incorrect spec, a broken link, anything โ we want to know. Reach out via our Contact page and we'll investigate and correct genuine errors promptly.
8. Independence and Affiliate Disclosure
Some links on Shawzilla may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a small commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. This never influences which vehicles we recommend or how we rank them โ see our About page for the full disclosure.
If you have questions about how a specific article was researched or sourced, reach out at our Contact page.
