Audi India 2026: After a Quiet Year, the PPE Era Begins

2025 was, by Audi India's own admission, a relatively quiet year. While BMW stacked wins and Mercedes refined its top-end pitch, Audi was largely treading water. The reason is straightforward: Audi was waiting for its platforms to catch up. In 2026, they finally have.
The PPE — Premium Platform Electric — is the architecture shared with the Porsche Macan Electric, and it underpins the two most important Audi India launches of the year: the A6 e-tron Sportback and the Q6 e-tron. Alongside those, a completely new generation Q3 and a redesigned Q5 bring fresh hardware to the brand's bread-and-butter SUV lineup. It adds up to the most consequential Audi India calendar in several years.

New Audi Q3 — The Volume Car Gets a Full Redesign
The Q3 is Audi's most accessible entry point in India, and the third-generation model is the most significant upgrade the nameplate has received. It's slightly larger than its predecessor, locally assembled, and arrives with high-set LED DRLs with customisable light signatures and an optional active suspension that keeps the body flat in corners. Expected from around ₹48 lakh, competing with the BMW X1 and Mercedes GLA.
New Audi Q5 — Built for Indian Roads, Third Time Around
The Q5 is Audi's best-selling model globally, and the third-generation version is completely redesigned on the new PPC architecture. The cabin introduces Audi's "Digital Stage" — a wide-screen interface spanning the dashboard. Engine options include a 265 hp 2.0T petrol and a 204 hp 2.0 TDI diesel that long-distance luxury buyers depend on. Expected around ₹70 lakh against the BMW X3 and Mercedes GLC.
Audi A6 e-tron — The Most Aerodynamic Audi Ever Built
The A6 e-tron is the second PPE-platform Audi, and it makes the strongest design statement. A sloping roofline and body-coloured grille give it the most aerodynamically optimised shape Audi has ever produced. Inside, a trio of screens spans the full dashboard width. Battery options are 83 kWh and 100 kWh, with the larger offering dual-motor AWD. Expected pricing around ₹1 crore, H2 2026.
The Q6 e-tron and what comes after

The Q6 e-tron is the first PPE-platform car in India, arriving with a redesigned interior — twin panoramic screens for driver and passenger, with a third screen for the rear. Expected around December 2026 at ~₹1 crore, it competes directly with the BMW iX3 and Mercedes EQC. Also in the pipeline: the e-tron GT facelift, Audi's electric performance four-door, with updated styling and revised range figures.

The honest read on Audi's India position: it enters the year as the third-ranked German brand by volume, behind BMW and Mercedes, with more ground to make up on EVs than either rival.
